If you're looking to spend ALL DAY on Jost Van Dyke relaxing in front of the Soggy Dollar Bar, then this trip is for you!

We depart from both Red Hook in St thomas and Cruz Bay in St John by 9am and go directly to Jost Van Dyke.  The 30 minute run over from the USVI's offers beautiful scenery with tourquoise waters. The captain will have loaded the ship's cooler up with complimentary beer and water for the day's adventure. We are first required to stop at Great Harbor to clear the boat and guests through BVI customs (hyper link to our customs breakdown page). Depending on other arriving traffic, this usually takes less than 20 minutes.

Passports Stamped... Then Onward to White Bay

White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is the next bay over and only a short 8 minute boat ride from Great Harbor.  The entire bay is protected by a
reef which makes for calmer waters, and offers two entrances for day- sail and charter boats.  The entire stretch of beach is only a couple hundred yards from one end to the other and offers a variety of places to eat, drink, and shop.  White Bay has been referred to as one of the Caribbean's best beaches.

There are no docks in White Bay, so everyone must swim orwade in to shore from their boats. Hence the name, "Soggy Dollar Bar".

Because our boats are designed for operations in shallow waters,  Dolphin can get right up to the beach.  The captain will put an anchoroff the bow, and then tie the stern up to a beach-hook.

  Can't swim? No worries.....

From our parking spot the water is normally chest deep so you can touch the bottom and wade in.

The boat and captain will normally spend the day tied up to the beach so personal items can be left onboard, and guests are welcome to come aboard whenever they please.

Beside the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar, White Bay has a few must-see hangouts. One Love Bar and Grill is situated at the western side of the beach and well worth the few minute walk to get there. Owner Seddy Callwood and his bar have been written up by countless travel magazines.  We highly recommend the lobster quesadilla which is loaded with lobster meat. We often remark that the lobster is less expensive to obtain than the other ingredients, which must be shipped in. Great travel hint: Ask Seddy if he has a few minutes to show off some of his magic tricks from behind the bar....what a treat!

And while you're at One Love Bar, tell them you are guests of Dolphin Water Taxi and enjoy a free shot of homemade "24/7" rum brewed up and bottled by Dolphin owner Greg Aberle.  In the BVI's, 24/7 rum can only be found at One Love Bar, and the Willy T, and its one of the perks enjoyed by our guests.

Ivan's Stress-Free Bar is a bit further removed from the main area of White Bay, located at the eastern side of the bay. A bit less commercial, this is where you may see some of the more famous Jost Van Dyke visitors hanging out. Less than 10 min walk to get there...and well worth it if you feel like a little more peace and quiet.

The hours are too short on Jost Van Dyke, and the 4pm departure time comes too soon!
However, we do have to make it back to Cruz Bay to clear back into the U.S before closing time. If you have a special function that requires a later evening, no worries, Dolphin can accomodate that as long as we know at least a few weeks in advance. Proper forms have to be submitted
and approved to bring citizens back to the USVI's after-hours, and we are specialists at it.

That's your tour! The day trip to Jost Van Dyke is by far our most popular trip. This is one of the few destinations that keeps people coming back every time they visit the VI's. And at $55pp each way, as Conde Nast Magazine says,"Finally! Visitors to the USVI's now have an easy and affordable way to get to Jost Van Dyke".
